The star has given the complete sum of his twenty-five thousand pound award prize money to the trust for venues, which operates to preserve the UK's grassroots music venues.
He was presented with the award on 16 October as his new release People Watching was chosen as the outstanding release of the past year.
The musician has decided to hand the money over to the MVT, in acknowledgment of the essential function local spots played in his beginning days.
"I personally wouldn't be doing this success if it weren't for all the shows I performed around the region, and elsewhere, when I was just getting going," remarked Sam Fender. "These spaces are legendary, but they are struggling."
Since the start of 2023, at least 150 of these venues have permanently closed – roughly one-sixth of the total UK scene.
Recently, well-known musicians including Pulp, Coldplay, the singer Katy Perry and Sheeran have all aided the MVT in its initiatives to keep the scene afloat, by including a modest fee to their ticket costs, which benefits independent venues.
He also took part, generating over £100k on his 2024 arena tour to support thirty-eight small stages across the UK.
The donation supported locations that were dealing with possible closure due to difficulties caused by flooding, fire incidents and bereavements, as well as permit problems, conflicts and noise complaints.
Some locations obtained financial assistance in improving amenities and technical equipment that helped performers and fans.
"The notion that revenue from concerts in big venues supports the local stages, where it begins for performers like me, is just common sense," Fender has said.
Fender is far from the only musician to donate his honor prize money to worthy causes.
In the band earned the award in 1996 for their release their work, lead singer the singer declared that the group would give their prize money to the organization War Child.
During 2002, rapper and singer Ms Dynamite divided her prize among several organizations, such as the children's charity and a Sickle Cell organization.
"Additionally, I gave a thousand pounds to the center, to their classes, because I did gymnastics when I was growing up and they required new equipment," Ms Dynamite shared with outlets.
Previously, the band donated their winnings to the community center that nurtured their group, alongside other grassroots music organisations.
Additionally the 1994 recipients M People gave their award to a MS organization after a acquaintance was identified with the condition.
"Receiving the award was quite enough," remarked artist Heather Small. "The prize was the cherry on top but we didn't need the bonus, because we had the main prize. So our victory impacted the lives of others."
In the past week, the trust shared it had protected several grassroots venues in that region, by placing them under public stewardship.
One venue in the city and the second in that location were purchased under the Own Our Venues initiative, which is supported by a national body and enthusiasts who buy "stakes" in the properties.
